Smart Academy

Launched in May 2016, the SMART Academy for Healthcare is a state-of-the-art Paramedical Training Institute in New Delhi, established as a CSR initiative of Tech Mahindra Foundation in collaboration with Harijan Sevak Sangh. It aims at creating a cadre of well qualified, trained healthcare professionals by providing high quality innovative and interactive training to young men and women. The Academy trains professionals through a number of Paramedical Diploma Courses and Certificate Courses.

Well-equipped laboratories, highly qualified healthcare professionals, on-job training in leading hospitals along with a varied range of extra-curricular activities in the verdant greenery have shaped it as a world class institution. The Academy lays the foundation of lifelong learning as a powerful way to tap into potential employment opportunities for youth in search of professional skilling opportunities. Incessant up gradation, self-improvement and strong processes are part of the Academy’s core philosophy. 

Dr. Sankar Kumar Sanyal, President, HSS is the Chairman of the Management Committee and Vice Presidents, Secretaries of HSS along with representatives of Tech Mahindra Foundation are in the Committee.

The training courses in the Academy are imparted in a combined procedure of theory and practical, with emphasis on quality. The classes are delivered and assisted by highly qualified and experienced faculty members including Doctors, Guest Lecturers and Experts. The rich diversity of the Academy’s Faculty’s background infuse in the students, a structured understanding of issues and a desire for unremitting learning through high quality staff, set up and training. 

The Academy also took the scheme to renovate one Hostel building of the Sangh so that their students may get lodgings and continue their studies without any impediment. This Hostel will also house students who will be deputed from various State Branches of the Sangh. For this act, the Sangh shall remain grateful to Sri Rakesh Soni, CEO of M/s. Tech Mahindra Foundation, Dr. Reeva Paul, Director of the Academy and their entire team.

Dr.Nisha Bala Tyagi

Dr.Nisha Bala Tyagi has done her doctorate in Gandhian Philosophy and post doctorate research in Gandhi and Tolstoy from Delhi University.Nisha is a retired professor from Miranda House ,Delhi University.She has been Deputy Dean Academic ,Gandhi Bhawan, and Deputy Proctor ,Delhi University.Nisha has been to Gandhi Foundation(U.K),Berlin and Erlangen University (Germany ),U.S.A and Sweden to lecture and paper presentations on Gandhi. In Berlin,she had also signed a manifesto against conspiration and the military system.She has also published a book on ‘Goodness:The Gandhian Way of life’from Gandhi Peace Foundation.She has published a number of research papers and book reviews.Nisha has also been associated with post graduate teaching in the Department of Philosophy ,Delhi University.She is also an academic member of the the Athens Institute,’a world association of Academics and Research’.
