Family Counselling Centre

Since 1989 a Family Counselling Centre (FCC) has been run by Harijan Sevak Sangh with the assistance in the form of Grants-in-Aid from the Social Welfare Board since its inception. The key objective of the Centre is to offer precautionary, therapeutic and rehabilitative services to the women who are or have been sufferers of atrocities and family hostility. The Family Counselling Centre has a well- established network with different Family Counselling Centres located in various parts of the NCT of Delhi and other Govt and Non-Govt. organisations. The referral services like short stay, free legal assistance and Police help, assistance in case of rape, molestation, drug abuse, alcoholism, and street cruelty is also provided. Besides above, Legal Literacy Camps, Mohalla Meetings, and Awareness Camps equally for men and women to empower family and community for establishment of an ideal family in the society are also organised by the FCC. Numerous cases of atrocities on women had been successfully dealt with since the establishment of the Centre.

There were 38 cases in the year of 2022, 24 cases were solved and 14 could not be settled so far. This council is funded by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Delhi Advisory Board.
