Ba Ki Rasoi has served as a community kitchen since the establishment of the Ashram in 1932. It provides meals to the students of Thakkar Baba Residential Primary Hostel and School on a daily basis. Food is served in the dining room in a traditional manner without any discrimination.Occasionally, the kitchen serves as a platform for organizations working towards the upliftment of the people.
Harijan Sevak Sangh initiated a unique programme, Community Kitchen, ‘BA KI RASOI’ in its Campus at Kingsway, Delhi from 8th June 2021 to 2nd October 2021 total 114 days in association with, Delhi State HSS and National Youth Project (NYP) which served more than 200/250 helpless and needy people each day who were mostly daily wage earners and lost their jobs in the outburst of Pandemic COVID-19.
Moreover Delhi HSS and some other State Branches also distributed Ration Kit, Medicines, Sanitizers, Dress Materials and other essential commodities and ran the Community Kitchen, to the need based people.
Each day’s PRASAD programme dedicated in the names of former Presidents of HSS, eminent Gandhians and also workers who left a permanent impression in the field of Gandhian social activities and was actively connected with the Sangh. It was a true tribute to them.
